Every sales enablement job posting tells you something about the company's tech stack. When a company lists Highspot or Seismic as a requirement, they're telling you what they've already bought and need someone to run. When they list Gong or Chorus, they're telling you conversation intelligence is part of the enablement function, not just sales ops.

We pulled 1,547 enablement job postings from Q4 2025 through Q1 2026 and cataloged every tool mention. The results confirm what practitioners already suspect: content management platforms dominate requirements, but conversation intelligence is closing the gap fast. Training and readiness tools appear less frequently in job postings but show up consistently in job descriptions for senior roles.

Content Management: Highspot vs Seismic

Content management is the foundation of most enablement tech stacks. Two platforms dominate: Highspot and Seismic. Together they account for 67% of all content management tool mentions in enablement job postings.

Highspot appeared in 14.2% of all postings we analyzed, making it the single most-mentioned enablement tool across all categories. Seismic followed at 11.8%. The gap has narrowed since 2024, when Highspot led by nearly 5 percentage points.

Seismic shows up more frequently in enterprise postings (2,000+ employees), where its deeper integration with content creation workflows and compliance features justify higher per-seat costs.

Showpad rounds out the top three at 5.3% of mentions. It's most common in mid-market postings and European-headquartered companies. Beyond these three, content management tool mentions fragment across dozens of smaller players. Guru, Bloomfire, and SharePoint each appear in fewer than 2% of postings.

The data points in one direction: if you're building an enablement career, you need hands-on experience with at least one of Highspot or Seismic. Proficiency in both puts you in a strong position for nearly any content-management-focused enablement role.

Conversation Intelligence: Gong, Chorus, and the Coaching Connection

Conversation intelligence tools appeared in 31% of enablement job postings, up from 19% in 2023. That growth reflects a real shift in how companies define the enablement function. Coaching used to be something enablement teams did informally. Now it is a structured practice built on call recordings, AI-generated insights, and scorecards.

Gong leads the category with 18.7% of all postings mentioning it by name. That makes Gong the second most-mentioned tool overall, behind only Highspot. Chorus (now part of ZoomInfo) appeared in 7.4% of postings, and Clari Copilot (formerly Wingman) showed up in 3.1%.

The interesting finding is where these tools appear. For entry-level and mid-level enablement roles, conversation intelligence is listed as a "nice to have." For senior and director-level roles, it's a core requirement. That tells us something about how enablement orgs are structured: junior team members manage content and training logistics, while senior practitioners own the coaching and analytics layer.

Mindtickle straddles the conversation intelligence and training categories. It appeared in 6.2% of postings, usually alongside Gong rather than instead of it. Companies that list both are typically running Gong for live call analysis and Mindtickle for structured coaching programs and certifications.

Sales Readiness: WorkRamp, Lessonly, and the LMS Question

Training and readiness platforms appeared in 22% of enablement postings. The category is more fragmented than content management or conversation intelligence, with no single platform claiming more than 7% share.

Lessonly (now part of Seismic) led at 6.8%, followed by WorkRamp at 5.4% and Allego at 4.9%. Brainshark, once a category leader, appeared in just 2.1% of postings, reflecting its decline since the Bigtincan acquisition.

The readiness category has an LMS problem. Many companies still run enablement training through generic learning management systems like Cornerstone, SAP Litmos, or Docebo. These tools appeared in 8.3% of enablement postings collectively, but they aren't purpose-built for sales. Enablement teams that inherit a generic LMS spend most of their time working around its limitations instead of delivering training.

The trend is moving toward integrated platforms. Seismic's acquisition of Lessonly and Highspot's native training features signal that content management and readiness are converging into a single platform. Job postings from companies using these integrated stacks tend to list fewer individual tools, which suggests the "one platform" approach simplifies the enablement tech stack.

The Stack That Wins: Recommendations by Company Size

Based on what we see in job postings, here's how companies typically stack their enablement tools by size.

Startups and SMBs (Under 200 Employees)

Most companies this size don't have dedicated enablement headcount. When they do, the role is a generalist who manages everything from onboarding to content. The typical stack is lightweight: Google Drive or Notion for content, Gong for call coaching, and a basic LMS or no formal training platform at all. Total tool spend: $500-$2,000/month.

Mid-Market (200-2,000 Employees)

This is where dedicated enablement platforms become standard. The most common mid-market stack includes Highspot or Showpad for content, Gong for conversation intelligence, and either Lessonly or WorkRamp for training. Some companies add Mindtickle for structured coaching programs. Total tool spend: $5,000-$25,000/month depending on seat count.

Enterprise (2,000+ Employees)

Enterprise enablement stacks are larger and more specialized. Seismic or Highspot handles content management at scale. Gong plus a dedicated coaching platform (Mindtickle or Allego) covers the intelligence and training layers. Companies at this size often add specialized tools for digital sales rooms (Dealfront, Aligned), competitive intelligence (Klue, Crayon), and analytics dashboards. Tool fluency is becoming a real differentiator in enablement hiring. Three years ago, most enablement job postings listed CRM experience (Salesforce, usually) and left it at that. Today, 72% of postings mention at least one enablement-specific platform by name.
